Thank you so much for joining me today on my first blog post! I wanted to take some time to share a little bit about myself so you can get to know me a little better and follow me along my professional journey.
Who is Brenda Nicole Peña?
I'm a southern girl living in Washington, DC. I am of Mexican descent, am the oldest of four children, I love Jesus, have an odd obsession with hamburgers and french fries, and I love to write. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (#Hookem) and received my master's degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio (#BirdsUp). I'm a huge advocate for education and being the first in my family to receive a college degree, I'd like to say it's been a huge door opener in my life.
I'm Disney obsessed, love Broadway, love to sing duets with my baby sister, and I have the most amazing family in the world. I cannot begin to describe how much they have supported my dreams and have molded me into the woman that I am today. They pretty much rock my socks off and I'm beyond blessed.
What to Expect From This Blog
First and foremost, I love getting personal! To expand on this, my blog will include personal topics ranging from relationships, friendships, sibling rivalry, and past experiences, all the way to mental health and timely issues around giving back to the community. Just like any creative, there is so much to explore and write about that I can't stick to a single bubble of topics--I just have to give you the full experience!
What Not to Expect From This Blog
Anything political. I welcome everyone's cultures, creeds, political views, and more--but this isn't the place to start a political debate or offend one another because of differences.
Why Should You Follow My Journey?
I believe that I can give a fresh, interesting (sometimes a little wild) perspective on life, and the importance of hard work and faith. I don't try and pretend to be something I'm not and if anything, I feel like my blog can give a refreshing spin to some heartbreaking things happening across the globe--who knows, maybe I can make you laugh a little? :) Ultimately, it's your choice but I would be honored to share my stories with you.
